Having the craic at a ‘ciorcal comhrá’ in The Arches Hotel in Claregalway.

The two very successful ‘ciorcail comhrá’ which have been running in Claregalway and Clonboo for years are coming back next week after taking a break for the summer.

The weekly Friday morning Conversation Circle at Loughgerge returns on Friday, September 5, at 10.30am. New participants are welcome.

This weekly ‘ciorcal comhrá’ has been meeting for almost ten years and is a great way of practicing your Irish or learning new words and phrases on a Friday morning.

And the monthly Conversation Circle at Regan’s of Clonboo, on the first Monday of every month, is returning on Monday, September 1, at 8pm. Contact Patrick O’Flaherty at (087) 9077732 if you would like to take part.

There was a great turnout at a ‘Pop Up Gaeltacht’ at Regans early last month and it would be great to have more social gatherings ‘as Gaeilge’ in the Annaghdown and Clonboo area.

We had a great response to our new Ciorcal Comhrá at The Arches in Claregalway on Thursday evenings before the summer holidays, with up to 40 people turning up some weeks, and we hope to have news for you soon about a return!

It was inspiring to see how many people were delighted to turn up every week to speak Irish, make new friends, and maintain the links which Claregalway has with our native language going back through the generations.
