Irish language enthusiasts from Gaeltacht an Eachréidh and An Bruach Thoir are coming together to celebrate the summer holidays with a barbecue at McHugh’s Traditional Pub and Restaurant on Saturday, August 16 (5pm).

This family-friendly event, which will include a juggling show for the children, is free of charge for those who register in advance with the Irish Language Planning Officers.

There is an open invitation for people from Claregalway, Carnmore, Annaghdown, Menlo, and Tirellan to attend this event and musicians are invited to bring along their instruments for an informal session.

This event follows the huge success of our sold out ‘Bricfeasta le Gaeilge’ at the same venue on St. Patrick’s weekend, when Irish speakers to the north and east of the city enjoyed conversation, craic, and ceol on a Saturday morning. It was a lovely way of bringing people together, making new friends, and practicing ‘cúpla focail’ together.

A special menu ‘as Gaeilge’ was created for the breakfast and people said it was fantastic to hear so much Irish being spoken at McHugh’s two days before St. Patrick’s Day.
