Our Irish classes for adults at The Arches Hotel in Claregalway have been a huge success since we started them last October and we are delighted to announce that we are doing one more term of six weeks before the summer holidays.

Local teacher Máire Nic Oireachtaigh is taking charge of a new six-week term of classes on Tuesday evenings, starting on Tuesday, May 12.  The first class is aimed at A1 (Beginners) and A2 (Elementary) learners, and you should have at least some Irish (even if it’s rusty Gaeilge from school) or previous attendance at evening classes to take part.

The second level (B1) is for those who have some level of Irish and can describe experiences such as a day at work, school, etc. Perhaps you watch Ros na Rún or understand some of the match commentaries on TG4. As our first two terms at The Arches Hotel sold out in advance, we are delighted to offer another round of classes before the summer.

It is important to check your level before registering. (There is a link to a level test on the Eventbrite page). The cost of this six-week term is just €50.

The beginners’ class is from 7 to 8pm and the intermediate from 8.15 to 9.15pm. Please register for the correct class at this stage, as the previous term sold out well in advance! Our term ends on June 16.

There was a wonderful atmosphere at these classes during the last eight-week term and we even made an appearance on Nuacht TG4, who were intrigued that there was such a demand for Irish classes in Gaeltacht an Eachréidh!

Before registering, please check your level here:

If your score is A1 or A2, you should join the first class at 7pm.

If your score is B1, and you have some understanding of Irish, the 8.15pm class is the one for you. Go raibh maith agaibh.
