We decided it is time for an end of year celebration and we are asking Irish speakers and learners from Gaeltacht an Eachréidh for a night of conversation and music at The Arches Hotel in Claregalway on Thursday, December 11 (8pm).

The Arches has hosted our very successful weekly ‘Ciorcal Comhrá’ since we held our first ‘Pop Up Gaeltacht’ there at the end of February and it is great to see a community of Gaeilgoirs emerging in a place where our beautiful native language is not heard so much in public any more.

With three conversation circles on the go in Loughgeorge, Claregalway, and Clonboo, two adult classes at The Arches Hotel on Tuesdays, and plenty of workshops going on in our schools, we believe that our Irish speaking community is growing here at Gaeltacht an Eachréidh.

The weekly ‘Ciorcal Comhrá’ with Barbara Nic Dhonnacha will continue at The Arches on Thursdays, with four more scheduled for November 13, 20, and 27, and December 4.

If you have ‘cúpla focail’ pop down to The Arches on a Thursday for good company and some fun. You do not have to be fluent to take part.

To mark the end of a successful year, we are inviting Irish language enthusiasts and learners from Claregalway, Carnmore, and Annaghdown to join us for a Christmas party at The Arches Hotel on Thursday, December 11, at 8pm.

We will have good conversation, some finger food, and we are extending an open invitation to musicians and singers to join us for an informal session on the night. A lovely way to celebrate the end of a great year for Irish in this area.

Bígi linn ar an 11 Nollaig!
