Chatting ‘as Gaeilge’ at the weekly ‘ciorcal comhrá’ at The Arches Hotel. The venue will host our first table quiz in Irish this month.

Try out your Irish and test your general knowledge with a fun Table Quiz with Gaeltacht an Eachréidh at The Arches Hotel, Claregalway, on Thursday, October 23 (8pm).

Admission is free to this event which is taking place instead of our regular ‘ciorcal comhrá’ at The Arches on Thursdays.

Participants will be divided into teams of four, but you don’t need to have a team with you to take part. Just come along and we will organise the teams when everyone arrives at the hotel.

The quiz will be conducted primarily ‘as Gaeilge’ but we will divide up the teams to mix fluent Irish speakers with those who may only have ‘cúpla focail’.

Local man Gearoid O Fathaigh, a regular at the ‘ciorcal comhrá’ in Claregalway, will be the Fear A’ Tí on the night.

You can blame Gearóid if the questions are difficult!

There will be some spot prizes for the winning teams.

And we would like to extend a big ‘fáilte’ to Irish language enthusiasts in nearby places such as Menlo, Headford, and Annaghdown to join us for a night of ‘craic’ in Claregalway.
