Tour of Inis Meáin

September 26 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm Free

Tickets have just become available for a guided tour ‘as Gaeilge’ of the beautiful island of Inis Meáin, with Aedin Ni Thiarnaigh, writer, teacher, festival founder, and lover of nature, who moved to the island five years ago.

This tour is free of charge to people from Gaeltacht an Eachreidh, but you have to arrange your own transport to and from the island with Aran Island Ferries.

We will be meeting on the pier after the 10.30 boat arrives from Rossaveel (at about 11.15am) and returning home on the 4.45pm boat from Inis Oirr.

Our tour will take in Synge’s Chair, Teach Synge, the island’s church (with stained glass windows by Harry Clarke) and Aedin will talk about her love of life and nature on the island since she moved there some years ago.

Please book a FREE ticket for the walking tour on our Eventbrite page, as places are limited. You can book your boat (and bus) ticket at https://www.aranislandferries.com/ or give them a call at (091) 568903, particularly if you are entitled to free travel.

Please note this guided tour is “as Gaeilge” and you are expected to have some knowledge of our beautiful native language.
