Tour – Galway’s role in the 1916 Rising

Join us for a four-hour bus tour exploring the sites and stories in Co. Galway which were connected with the Easter Rising in 1916.

Galway city native, historian, guide, and author Jim Ward will bring us on a four hour bus tour ‘as Gaeilge’ to explore the history of the rising in Co. Galway.

Our tour will begin at the car park to the rear of The Arches Hotel at 11am on Saturday, July 18, where a coach from Paul Nash Travel will be waiting. We will return to the same location after visiting seven sites of interest across East Galway.

The tour will take approximately four hours and Jim will guide us ‘as Gaeilge’ as we take in the sites where Galway people rose up against the British Empire in Easter 1916.
