{"id":3059,"date":"2026-09-23T16:32:46","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T16:32:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gaeltachtaneachreidh.ie\/muintir-an-eachreidh-ag-dul-go-hinis-meain\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T16:35:26","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T16:35:26","slug":"join-us-for-a-day-on-inis-meain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gaeltachtaneachreidh.ie\/en\/join-us-for-a-day-on-inis-meain\/","title":{"rendered":"Join us for a day on Inis Me\u00e1in"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3050\" src=\"https:\/\/gaeltachtaneachreidh.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/inismeaintirdhreach-600x540.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"540\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Join us for a day out on Inis Me\u00e1in, the most tranquil of the three Aran Islands, this Saturday (September 26).<\/p>\n<p>After taking the boat from Rossaveel, we will meet up on the pier for an informative walking tour with guide, teacher, writer, and nature-lover Aed\u00edn N\u00ed Thiarnaigh.<\/p>\n<p>This tour is free of charge to people from Gaeltacht an Eachreidh, but you have to arrange your own transport to and from the island.<\/p>\n<p>It follows on from our wonderful guided tour of Inis Oirr, also with a local guide, back in June.<\/p>\n<p>We will be meeting on the pier on Inis Me\u00e1in after the 10.30 boat arrives from Rossaveel (at about 11.15am) and returning home on the 4.45pm boat from Inis Oirr.<\/p>\n<p>Our tour will take in Synge\u2019s Chair, Teach Synge, the island\u2019s church (with stained glass windows by Harry Clarke) and Aedin will talk about her love of life and nature on the island since she moved there some years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Please book a FREE ticket for the walking tour on our Eventbrite page, as places are limited.
