{"id":2195,"date":"2026-01-29T15:28:03","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T15:28:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gaeltachtaneachreidh.ie\/comhra-agus-ceol-i-gcluain-bu\/"},"modified":"2026-01-29T15:33:21","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T15:33:21","slug":"conversation-and-craic-in-regans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gaeltachtaneachreidh.ie\/en\/conversation-and-craic-in-regans\/","title":{"rendered":"Conversation and craic in Regans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2188\" src=\"https:\/\/gaeltachtaneachreidh.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/regans1-600x540.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"540\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The successful monthly &#8216;ciorcal comhr\u00e1&#8217; at Regan\u2019s of Clonboo is returning this Bank Holiday Monday, February 2 (8pm), with a special night of craic and music to mark their first gathering of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>At least four local musicians are coming along for a music session after an hour of conversation \u2018as Gaeilge\u2019 at Regan\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>And the locals would love Irish-speakers from Carnmore, Claregalway, Annaghdown, and Menlo to join them for a few hours of the best of Irish culture.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a musical instrument, or a good voice, even better!<\/p>\n<p>The January gathering of the \u2018Ciorcal Comhr\u00e1\u2019 had to be cancelled due to bad weather and this time last year many of the local houses were still without electricity after the destruction caused by Storm Eowyn.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Ciorcal Comhr\u00e1\u2019 on the first Monday night of each month is open to anyone with an interest in the Irish language in Clonboo, Annaghdown, or Headford, and you don\u2019t have to be fluent to take part.<\/p>\n<p>It is a very informal gathering and people with any level of Irish are encouraged to come along.<\/p>\n<p>The conversation circle is an enjoyable way of practising whatever Irish you have and adult learners are particularly encouraged to come along and try saying a few words in a friendly setting.<\/p>\n<p>This Monday we have the added bonus of a traditional music session after the hour of conversation in the pub.
